Full-Stack / Backend Platform Engineer

What you’ll build
- Cloud-native backend services for real-time education on GCP
- APIs and infrastructure that connect teachers with multiple students
- Event-driven systems (streams/queues) and reliability tooling
- Developer experience: CI/CD, tests, pre-submit checks, deployments
What we’re looking for
- Strong backend engineering + ownership mindset
- Experience with cloud (GCP preferred) and production systems
- Comfortable with databases (PostgreSQL), caching/streams (Redis)
- Bonus: NestJS/Node, Go, Python, GraphQL, video systems (WebRTC/LiveKit)

Who you’ll work with
- A small founder-led team (currently 4 people)
- Teachers + engineers — real classroom feedback in the loop
- You’ll work closely with the founders on architecture and prioritization
What success looks like (30 / 60 / 90 days)
30 days
- Get the dev stack running locally + in the cloud
- Ship a small production improvement (tests, CI, or API)
- Understand the real-time lesson flow end-to-end
60 days
- Own one backend service area (API, streams, or storage)
- Improve reliability: logging, metrics, and sane deploys
- Help shape the architecture for scale (Hungary → US)
90 days
- Deliver a meaningful feature end-to-end
- Set standards for code quality, testing, and DX
- Be a core owner of the platform roadmap
